‘I’m Not Ready to Have Children’: Activist Films Her Own Abortion to Show Women It Can Be a ‘Positive’ Experience
Emily Letts, a 25-year-old abortion counselor, decided that she would film herself going through an abortion to “show women that there is a such thing as a positive abortion story”. She found out that she was pregnant and decided that she wasn’t ready to have children. The video posted on Youtube mainly focuses on Letts’ face and also includes her thoughts about a month after having the abortion. She says in the video that she is “in awe of the fact that she can make a baby” and that she “can make life”. In an article to Cosmo, Letts gives more reason as to why she did the video: Continue Reading Newsbites 5/18/14…

http://christiannews.net/2014/05/04/glenn-beck-invokes-joseph-smith-mormon-beliefs-during-liberty-university-speech
Radio talk show host Glenn Beck gave a speech to the Liberty University student body in which he talked about atonement, Joseph Smith, and his Mormon theology. He told those gathered that he shares their faith and that he had been given a special message for the Liberty students. Beck talked about Joseph Smith being martyred and made a connection between Smith and the students. He told them that they had to figure out what purpose God had sent them here to accomplish. Palestinian leader denounces Holocaust as ‘heinous crime’
http://www.latimes.com/world/middleeast/la-fg-abbas-holocaust-20140428,0,2695104.story
Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas spoke out against the atrocities of the Holocaust and talked about having sympathy for the victims. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu thinks that the claims were just an effort to get public opinion on his side. Abbas said that the world should “safeguard the oppressed and weak wherever they are found”. He then spoke about his own Palestinians are oppressed and “denied freedom and peace”. Abbas used the comments to continue to push for a two state solution to peace. Netanyahu said that peace will not happen while Palestinians remain connected to Hamas.
The push for a two state solution is really a pipe dream. I find it really hard to believe that Palestinians will stop with their own state. For all that has happened, I don’t think that Israel will find peace if Palestine gets their own state. I think it will just make it easier for Palestine to be a pain in Israel’s butt. As a Christian, I believe that Israel has a right to the land that God promised them. The arguments that are often made to support Palestine are weak at best. God promised Israel their land and they shouldn’t have to give it up for any reason… Continue Reading News Bites 04/27/14…
