Pearl Harbor then and now.

Today, 74 years ago, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and brought the US into the war. It was a “day that will live in infamy”. Some thought that it “awoke a sleeping giant”. The generation that fought in this war has been called the “greatest generation” and I won’t argue with that for a second.

Many were high school grads and college students who were shipped across the world to fight a war that they didn’t start. They fought for their lives and their families back home. Sacrifice wasn’t a question. They did it to keep the war “over there” instead of letting it come over here. They fought so that the freedoms we have could be retained in the face of tyrants ushered in through popular election on false promises. They preserved the fabric of the American ideal with their fortitude, their stubbornness, and even with their lives.

What a contrast to what we have today. We have tyrant ushered into his position by popular election based on false promises. Our President has opened the borders of this country to anyone and everyone except Christians. He has pushed for a large contingent of refugees from Syria to be relocated here. He is bringing the war here. And, make no mistake about it, it is a war. The majority of these refugees are Muslim men who have a severe hatred for the American ideal and the American people and are willing to kill to see their way of life implemented. Innocent blood continues to be shed here on our soil and all the President can speak about is taking away the guns of law-biding citizens so that they are unable to protect themselves from the onslaught of Islamic terrorism.

Instead of protecting the American people and their freedoms, the President has done all he can at every turn to take those freedoms away and, unfortunately, it’s working. The spineless people in the House and Senate continue to push their own agenda instead of keeping the POTUS in check. They constantly refuse to use the powers given to them in the US Constitution to contain and defeat the lunacy coming from the Oval Office. They continuously fail to represent the people that put them in office, figuring that it’s better to line their pockets while they can than to plug the holes in a sinking ship or to call unscrupulous life-long politicians to be responsible with the lives, finances, and livelihood of the American people.

All of this hasn’t gone unnoticed…The greatest generation is watching as its children and grandchildren have followed the example of their elected leaders. They chase after the almighty dollar, thinking that it is money that has made American great. They criticize and ridicule the traditional family and Christian values, not realizing that it is those very things that has kept the country united in the past. Instead of standing for truth, freedom, and the American way; they whine and complain about how words hurt them and they need safe spaces away from the icky speech of people who disagree with them. The greatest generation has given way to a bunch of pansies who have no idea the cost was for the freedoms they’re so quickly giving up and so unwilling to defend.

The attack on Pearl Harbor caught everyone by surprise. No one expected it. But, when the American people got over the shock, they went out and kicked butt. They worked together to protect themselves and others from the evil that was festering in Germany, Italy, and Japan. Today is no different. If the American people and their elected officials will get their heads out of….the sand, they can still make the changes necessary to stem and even turn the tide of devastation caused by Washington DC. But, it will take people with backbone and a willingness to be called names and fight for what’s right for this to happen.

If there is an attack on the US, it will only surprise those who have spent their lives living in the dream world painted for them by the liberal media and the liberal politicians (Democrat and Republican). Those who actually study history and pay attention to the truth of the current situation will not be surprised and I’m willing to bet that they’ll be ready to defend themselves.

There is another event coming when no one knows. Jesus will come “as a thief in the night”. As dark as the situations in the world are right now, they aren’t as dark as the sins of the people living here. And when Jesus comes, He comes as a Judge of righteousness. He will come prepared for battle. All of those who are found unrepentant of their sins and failing to trust in Christ will be His enemies. While there is still time, prepare for eternity. Repent of your sins and put your faith in Christ alone to save you.
