In an effort to try to close the gap between himself and conservative voters, Rudolph Giuliani said that the ideals that he and conservative voters have in common are more important than what separates them. He says that he’s not “an activist for liberal causes”. He told the values voters in Washington D.C. that, while he and conservatives have many areas of disagreement, that “he would protect the values they share”.

Is this possible? As president, would Rudolph Giuliani really represent the conservative voters of our nation? Especially when so many of the ideals that we hold don’t match up with his own? Just reading his website you can see the doubletalk dripping from his quotes about where he stands on political issues.

For instance, on marriage the website states:

Rudy Giuliani believes marriage is between a man and a woman. He does not—and has never—supported gay marriage. But he believes in equal rights under law for all Americans. That’s why he supports domestic partnerships that provide stability for committed partners in important legal and personal matters, while preserving the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman. Former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani has posted an interview on the CBN website sharing some of his beliefs with the nation. Giuliani says, “I believe in God and I pray to God and to Jesus for guidance and help”. Giuliani has “very, very strong views on religion that come from having wanted to be a priest when [he] was younger”.

The former mayor and presidential hopeful says that “he feels God’s help when in crisis and under pressure like Sept. 11th”. But I wanted to ask a question about all of this…

Which God is Giuliani praying to? He says that he’s praying to God/Jesus, and that God is giving him guidance, but is the God he’s praying to the God of the Bible? Giuliani is well known for his support of abortion and gay rights. Do these beliefs line up with the Bible? The Bible says that God knew us before we were born. And it speaks very clearly about how precious life is to God. It also clearly states in Leviticus 18:22, “You shall not lay with a man as with a woman. It is an abomination.” So, to support abortion and gay rights would be to go against the Word of the God that Giuliani professes to believe in. Continue Reading Giuliani’s God…
