About

Hi! Welcome to my blog!

This blog is where I write whatever I think is important. You may not feel the same way about it, but if not, that’s ok. You can write your own blog. 🙂

Since this is the “About” page, I guess I should tell you something about me. I am an American who started out life in the North and after about 20 years, decided to move down south to be close to my daughter. When I moved down here, it was like a culture shock. Things were much different. One of the things that was different here was the attitude. Another was the church.

I was raised a Roman Catholic, although we didn’t practice it very much, and had only had a few instances where I went to a Protestant church. When I got down here, one of the things that I did was start going to a Methodist church. It was here that I first heard about a lot of the things that helped to change my life. I had heard about sin and confession from the Roman Catholic church, but I never heard much about Christ or why sin was so bad. When I started hearing about sin, hell, and judgment, I got to realize that I’m a wretched sinful man. I finally realized that all of the lying, stealing, lusting, idoaltry, hatred, and other things had put me at emnity with God and that I was a rebel against Him. If I were to die with those sins unpaid for, I would be sent to hell for eternity as just punishment. Then I heard the scariest part of all of it. There was nothing I could do to pay for those sins. No amount of good works would erase even one of those sins. All of the help I’d provided, all of the nice things that I’d done, none of it would move the scales in the slightest. It was kind of surreal to think of the position I was in. I was going to end up punished in hell for eternity and there wasn’t anything that I could do about it. The weight of my actions was heavy that day.

And then I heard the most amazing thing. I was told that there was a way that I could be freed from the weight of my sin, come out from under the wrath of God, and have the assurance that when I die, I will go to heaven. I heard about how God came to earth and poured Himself into human flesh. God became a man in order to do what no other man could do. He lived without sin for 33 years and then allowed Himself to be crucified for the sins of the world. In the death of Jesus Christ, I found my freedom. By repenting of my sins and trusting in Jesus to save me, I had been redeemed. I was no longer weighted down with my sin. I had been completely forgiven. It was an unbelievable experience.

Since that day, I have strived to live my life according to the tenets of Christianity found in the Bible. I’ll be honest; I haven’t always done a great job. I have failed many times. And I have asked God to forgive me. But, I have grown in holiness. The things that I once loved, I now hate. And, as I grow closer to Christ, those things increase. I’m by no means perfect, but I am born again. The best news of all is that this isn’t just for me. It is for anyone who will repent of their sins and put their faith in Christ. Have you done that? Will you be honest enough to admit your sin, repent, and trust Jesus alone to save you? I hope so…

This blog has many things. It has posts about persecution of Christians, tshirt designs that I’ve created, and even discussions/arguments about different aspects of Christianity. If you start waaaaay back at the beginning, you’ll see some posts about things that I don’t necessarily agree with anymore. I have grown and God has shown me that some of the things that I believed weren’t right scripturally. I have left those posts here as a reminder to myself of where He’s brought me, and as evidence of what God does for those who love Him.

I hope that you enjoy your stay here and that you will comment and participate in the posts.

Love and Blessings,

  1. Thank you VERY much. I found you doing a google search, and I am thankful for what you have here on your blog. It is truth, and it does scare me to examine my heart. Where do you go to church?

    • Gina,

I’m sorry that it’s taken so long to reply back to you. Thank you for taking the time to read what I’ve written. It is scary when you read what the Bible says the way that God meant it. It’s also scary when you understand that every person that you and I know that does not have their sins forgiven when they die will find themselves in hell. While it’s scary, I believe that it’s necessary to examine our hearts often. They are deceitful and wicked and we need to keep an eye on them…

I go to church at a very good friends house. There are five of us and we study the scriptures and get preaching. We try our best to line up our lives according to what scripture really says and not what the majority of preachers nowadays seem to say. I love my church and the closeness we have. I also love the fellowship and the willingness of those I’m with to change if they are out of line with scripture. It’s truly inspiring! 🙂

      What about you?

  2. Beautiful testimony Mike. Again, I never met you in person, but, I feel I’ve always known you. Continue on with the Lord, and keep praying and believing your (our) loved ones will be saved soon before the Lord comes to get us. You are an inspiration and the love you hae in your heart for God and people shows through. Remember, when you are weak, then you are strong. Love in Christ Char (Dwayne’s Mom)

  3. I found your blog this morning while doing a little research about Abraham and Sarai…just read your about page. Super cool and I appreciate your honesty.

    • Thanks for stopping by Amy! I’m sorry it took so long to respond. I’ve been busy lately and haven’t had much time to blog or look at comments. I’m glad you found something helpful. If there is anything I can help with, please let me know!
