The design I’ve chosen for this week is called Rapture. The design is based on the idea of the coming event called the Rapture. According to Christianity, there will be a time to come (which is not far off in my opinion) when those who believe in Christ will be “caught up” to meet Him in the air. This comes from 1 Thessalonians 4:17 where Paul tells the church at Thessalonica that Jesus will descend with a shout, the dead in Christ will rise, and then those who are alive in Christ will rise to meet Him in the air.

The word rapture comes from the Latin Vulgate translation of the phrase “caught up”. There is much talk about when the rapture will actually occur, but there should be no doubt that there will be a rapture.

The most important question is this: Will you be ready? To know if you’ll be ready when the Lord returns, you need to look at how God will determine if you are His. The Bible says that there is a standard that God will judge by. That standard is the Ten Commandments. If you’ve lied, stolen, lusted, hated, etc., and have not had those sins paid for, then you will be found guilty by God and will not be “caught up” at the Rapture. This is because you will be living in rebellion to Him. The problem is that there is nothing that you can do to pay for your sins. If you die in your sins, you will be found guilty and have no recourse. The only thing that you can do with your sins is to acknowledge that they are wrong, repent of them, and put your trust in Jesus. If you do this, then God will change you and make you a new creature. The death of Jesus on the cross is the only thing that can remove your sins.

This is the choice put before every man, woman, and child. It is not mine to make for anyone else but myself. The only thing that I can do is to warn others of what is to come. If you choose to reject Christ, then I grieve for you. Please take the time to honestly look at your life in the light of the Ten Commandments. Please repent from your sins and put your trust in Jesus, not because things will be “better” but because you will be saved from hell. If you still refuse to do this, then when the rapture happens, you can have my stuff – I won’t need it.
